Hello, I'm Krystalynn Keller, a dedicated nonprofit professional with a profound passion for promoting outdoor recreation and breaking down barriers to accessibility. My belief is simple: the great outdoors should be inclusive, and I'm committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of background or ability, can access and enjoy nature's wonders.
I hold a Master of Science in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont. My academic background, coupled with 10 years of hands-on experience, forms the foundation of my commitment to fostering positive change, environmental stewardship, and creating inclusive spaces for transformative experiences.
My career journey is fueled by the conviction that outdoor activities possess the unique power to inspire personal growth, foster well-being, and cultivate a deeper connection to our environment. As the Executive Director of Shifting Gears, I lead a team dedicated to creating empowering recreation experiences for women. Together, we strive to build confidence, wellness, growth, and joy, ensuring that every woman walks away with the skills and tools needed to attain her recreational goals.
In addition to my role at Shifting Gears, I also serve as the lead Nonprofit Consultant at Keller Nonprofit Consulting. My expertise lies in providing comprehensive consulting services, ranging from strategic planning and board development to effective financial management and fundraising initiatives. My approach is always tailored to the unique needs of each organization, with a focus on optimizing operations and strategic marketing for lasting positive change.
Let's collaborate on your journey towards positive change and inclusive outdoor experiences. Your mission is my passion, and together, we can make a meaningful impact.

Keller Nonprofit Consulting partnered with the Vermont Trails & Greenways Council (VTGC) to enhance their digital presence. Key contributions included designing custom newsletter templates featuring VTGC’s new branding, developing an interactive stakeholder map to illustrate VTGC’s community connections, and launching the Trail Accessibility Hub (TAH) website to promote inclusive outdoor recreation. We also supported VTGC with press releases, case studies, and event displays to strengthen outreach and engagement with members and partners.
At Keller Nonprofit Consulting, we are proud to highlight our transformative collaboration with the Vermont Mountain Bike Association (VMBA). In a comprehensive project spanning Q1 and Q2 of 2024, we worked closely with VMBA to provide essential resources for their operations, Chapters, and events.
This included the development of an Operational Manual, an upgraded Chapter Resource Library, a comprehensive Chapter Handbook, a detailed Chapter Event Guidebook, an Emergency Response Plan, and an outline for a Chapter Summit.
Keller Nonprofit Consulting collaborated with NEMBA, VMBA, and KTA for the Elevate event in East Burke, VT, held from June 14-16, 2024. Our focus was on key event aspects, including logistics, program development, and volunteer management. Elevate aimed to foster inclusivity and a love for mountain biking among women and gender-expansive cyclists. Keller Nonprofit Consulting successfully coordinated the event, overseeing its implementation, managing logistics, ensuring safety, and addressing participant needs. This partnership exemplified our commitment to creating impactful and inclusive experiences.
